A task list that helps you choose
Your list has forty things on it. You can only do the next one. Keep ideas for later, bring the right work into today, and start there.

A small planning pass
Suppose your list includes a client reply, a tax form, and a book recommendation from a friend. Capture all three, but bring only the reply and form into today if those are the actions you intend to make time for. Move one into progress when you begin. If the tax form needs a document you do not have yet, leave it for later rather than calling it finished.
Give every task a place
Move from someday to backlog, today and in progress as your plans become concrete. Completed work stays distinct from archived work.
Work on one thing at a time
Start a focus session from a task so the work you planned and the time you spent stay connected.
What the list does not decide for you
The app can hold tasks in different stages and connect a task to focus time. It cannot know which promise matters most today, how long an unfamiliar task will take, or whether your plan still fits after a surprise meeting. Leave room to move a task back when circumstances change. The value is a clear record of your choice, not a claim that the original plan was perfect.
